I’ts been a long, tough and emotional day. After trekking from Karanga camp [from 3000m to 4800m] the team had a few hours sleep before rising at midnight and setting off at around one in the morning for the final ascent to the summit. 6 gruelling hours later, having climbed nearly 1200m to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro at 5895m the team reached the summit. A subdued, exhausted but thankful Chris sums up the climb.

For Kimberley it has been a real battle, but with some true grit and the help of the wonderful expedition leader Raj Joshi; responsible for getting all 9 artists [and some 25 crew and associates] up to Africa’s highest peak, she makes it. With Raj supportively at her side we snatch a few seconds with an emotional Kimberley and hear from Raj what a trooper she has been.
