Do you run a 5 to 9 business?

Back to BT Tradespace blog

The recession brought with it a new trend – employees starting up and running businesses in the evenings and on weekends. When we caught up with Emma Jones of Enterprise Nation, she talked about research her business ran in May 2009 showing that over 5 million people are ‘Working 5 to 9′ – i.e. working a day job and building a business at nights and weekends!
According to Jones, it’s the best way to start as it’s low cost, low risk and the bills get paid as you build confidence and cashflow so we thought we’d guage just how many of our Tradespacers fell into this category.
Do you run a 5 to 9 business? If so, let us know by taking part in our poll below!

Running a business 5-9 is incredibly hard work but I’m glad I took this approach given the current state of the UK economy. Enteprise Nation is a great resource also.

How do you feel about the economy in 2010?
