Poll: What do you look for when buying Christmas gifts online?

Back to BT Tradespace blog

No matter what size your company is or the sector you operate in – a professional online presence is no longer just an optional extra for businesses, it’s a prerequisite.
For small businesses, in particular, an online presence, when done properly, opens up a world of possibilities and opportunities. E-commerce is growing in importance all the time as consumers grow accustomed to the ease and variety it provides.
This Christmas is expected to see a boom in online shopping as cash-strapped gift buyers, locally, nationally and internationally, surf the Internet for the best deals. So it is important that businesses project themselves and their products and services in the best possible light to attract and retain customer interest and give a festive boost to sales.
However, what is the best way of optimising this opportunity to cash in during the festive period? Is it to offer a wide selection of products or value for money? Or do you think that secure payment facilities on a website or ease of navigation are the key to Yuletide Good Tidings?

Why only one selectable option. I, and I’m sure most people, look for a combination of those things and which was the *most* important would depend largely on what I was buying (and whether I’d left my Christmas shopping until the 21st December again :o ).

It’s interesting to see that a trusted website and secure payment facilities have a lower number of votes than some of the other options. Is this a sign that people trust online shopping a lot more now than they may have done in the past ?

How do you feel about the economy in 2010?
