What will you be doing to maintain staff morale during the current economic climate?
Back to BT Tradespace blog
It’s difficult to escape the headlines about the economy at the moment.
Your staff may feel insecure and anxious about their prospects and be pondering nervously exactly what the future holds.
However, this is a great opportunity to show your leadership skills. If you can retain and inspire your employees through the hard times, your business will emerge all the better for it when the upturn comes.
Maintaining a good team spirit now will not only help to keep your colleagues motivated and committed to the task in hand but also increase worker loyalty and confidence in the long term.
Rewarding staff with awards, team-bonding activities and performance-related bonuses or allowing them to take part in corporate social responsibility initiatives are all ways of achieving this.
You may prefer other methods such as offering home or flexible working so employees can enjoy a better work-life balance. Or perhaps you believe a regular, open and honest dialogue with your colleagues is more important.
